Nightmare November, Captain Fabulous and booing Eboué!

Good day ladies and gents and firstly may I apologise for my lack of updates. It seems the old personal problems are plaguing both myself and Mr Tommi G these days (*shakes fist at recession*), but hopefully we can keep it as regular as a pensioner with a tin of prunes.

With that in mind the last thing we need right now is a team incapable of being consistent. To say November was an up and down month would be putting it lightly. On one end of the scale we’ve got 3 losses against Stoke, Villa and Citeh, and at the other end we pulled out a home result against Manchester USA and an away win against CSKA Chelsea, and to top that off a nice display from our yoof smashing Wigan 3-0. Now of course I’m over the moon with those wins, but we should be rolling over Stoke, pulling something out of Villa at home especially and we certainly should not be rolled over by Citeh.

Put into the mix Whinging William Gallas lambasting our team and airing our dirty laundry and you’ve got a team the tabloids will have a field day with, which they did (you little tykes you). But because of this the requests of the gooners were finally accepted and the new le sulk was stripped quicker than a boy at choir practice. I think Fabregas is the right decision as our new captain and I know their has been a bit of debating as to whether he’s too young, he’s not ready, too much pressure etc etc, but I think making Fabregas our captain was the right decision. However, you would have thought that as King Touré was the vice captain he would have been next in line. But alas our new young captain is here and I now see this as an opportunity for us to not just get behind our whole team and with 60,000 strong we should be making more noise than we do, but I also think a little bit more focus can be aimed towards Captain Fabulous (as I like to call him). I have taken the liberty of writing up a little chant to help with this which I would like to share with you in the hope that when you visit the Emirates, you good people will start singing it, and hopefully those around you will pick it up too. Now it’s a slight rip off of the Anderson chant going round last year in which those silly northern monkeys think he shits on our Cesc, but personally, I think my versions better. To the tune of Agadoo:

Fabregas-gas-gas, Anderson can kiss his ass
Fabregas-gas-gas, with the ball he is world class
To the left, to the right, Fabregas can pass all night
Down the middle, down the wing, and you’ll hear the gooners sing...

Repeat that several times and the rest might pick it up. Either that or you’ll be carted out of the stadium for causing a disturbance.

Three games into December and we’ve got 1 win and 2 losses already. I know 2 of those games we played with inexperienced young players, but the pasting these lads handed to Wigan I was quite confident going into the Burnley game. But fair does, they done CSKA Chelsea and got one over on us too. That’s one less trophy to aim for this term. Going into the Porto game I know it didn’t really matter overall with the result but with le gaffer claiming he’s eyeing top spot I was a bit miffed at the squad he put out, but not as miffed as those gooners traveling all that way to watch our Carling Cup squad I’m sure. I know we’ve got players out and a somewhat small squad, but if he was serious about taking top spot a slightly stronger side would have backed up his words a bit.

Us gooners have been under fire recently by those lovely people of the media for our treatment towards Eboué. I have to admit to feeling a little sorry for him at the Wigan game, but he’s had it coming. His performances the last couple of seasons have been questionable, and I know we never expect much from this mook anyway. But why, WHY does Wenger continue to use him? Yes he’s only just come back from injury, but unless the injury was to do with his eyesight then that excuse doesn’t sit well with me. His petulance on top of his performance makes him an unlikable player, and surely it will only be a matter of time before Wenger gives up on him too. He needs a complete change around to get into our good books, and I hope he does, but it’s not likely.

Well that’s your lot I’m afraid. Let’s hope for a brighter December and a successful 2009. Be lucky gooners!
