Arsenal versus Liverpool match up

Well here we go again folks, another game against the hubcap nicking, shell suit wearing, giro getting Liverpool Scallies USA. This is of course part two in the trilogy of matches against those northern monkeys. The Premier League showdown will I should imagine be slightly different to the Champions League match as Rafa Benitez will make his mandatory eight changes. It will be interesting to see how Arsene Wenger approaches the game as I'm sure he'll want to rotate some players, but given the lack of depth, injuries, suspensions and personnel available I'm not sure if that will be possible.

Speaking of sicknote waving shenanigans Robin van Persie is back to his old treatment table hugging ways and has been given only a 20% chance of making the game. Is this boy made of glass of what? It's so frustrating having to watch him breakdown every time, I think this guy has had more comebacks than freaking Robbie Williams. Speaking of frustration and players who could make a difference to our league and cup campaigns but not being fit is the aptly named Tomas Sicky who is still missing! I really rate Rosicky as a player but damn! How many games has he played this season for us? I could see him being offloaded in the summer if he carries on like this. He's a great player on his day but no point having a great player if they only give you 15 games a season. Any road up alongside Robin van Persie and Tomas Sicky in the treatment room is Bacary Sagna and of course the Crozilian hitman Eduardo. However the big question mark is over Emmanuel Adebayor who got a knock in the Champions League game against the scouser's in midweek. But I don't need to tell you this if van Persie is crocked we definitely need the presence of Adebayor up front.

So that's the players who wont be playing, add to that list Abou Diaby who got red carded last week so will be sitting this one out. Manuel Almunia who signed a new extended contract looks to continue in goal but it remains to be seen whether Arsene Wenger goes for his new look back four of Kolo Touré at right back, William Gallas and Phillippe 'Swiss Tony' Senderos in the centre and Gael Clichy at left back. I would keep the back four as is as not disrupt their rhythm. In midfield Le Gaffer will have to decide whether to use Manu Eboué or Theo Walcott on the right hand side. I think everyone knows my thoughts on Eboué so no prizes for guessing I would start with Theo who looked lively against Liverpool when he came on. I'm sure Jamie Carragher or Sami Hyppia wouldn't fancy having the boy Walcott running at them for a full 90 minutes. The midfield pretty much takes care of itself with Cesc Fabregas, contract rebel Mathieu Flamini and ice cream loving Alex Hleb taking up the other starting berths. Up front is anyone's guess as we don't know if any of our main hitmen will be fit... GREAT!

This is the team I would send out given the likelihood of the above players missing.

                 Almunia

Touré Gallas Senderos Clichy

Walcott  Flamini  Fabregas  Hleb

       Adebayor  Bendtner

Subs:
Jens Lehmann
Alex Song
Denilson
J Hoyte
Manu Eboué

60 Second Round-up

Fran Merida signs up: Spanish sensation and a player dubbed Cesc Mark II Fran Merida, has signed an extended contract to keep him at The Arsenal. The 18 year old who's playing for Real Sociedad put pen to paper midweek and joins Manuel Almunia in signing extensions - looks like someone needs to have a word with that Flamini fella.... Spurs
A very famous line perhaps one of the most famous lines in English football is 'They think it's all over.... it is now.' Well seems spurs after picking up the Mickey Mouse Cup feel that that's there lot for the season, because they certainly aren't playing properly in the Premier League or are they really that shit (don't answer that, we know the answer). I suppose a big up must go to the Geordie boys who gave the N17 chavs a right stuffing - well done you northern monkeys.
It's a shame that there's plenty of other teams who are more crap than spurs because if they had to battle to save their Premier League status I think it would be touch and go - anyway not all things are to be.

S0, spurs, you've been murked and you're this weeks tools of the week.
